Ralph Jacobs Jewellers Repair Warranty

At Ralph Jacobs Jewellers, we are committed to maintaining the high quality and longevity of your jewellery. As part of this commitment, we offer a three-month warranty on all repairs performed by our skilled jewellers. This warranty is provided in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) of South Africa.
What’s Covered
Three-Month Warranty on Repairs:
- Any parts or components that we repair or replace are covered under a three-month warranty from the date of the repair. This means that if you experience any issues, such as a failure, defect, or unsafe feature within three months of the repair, we will take care of it.
If You Need Another Repair
Within Six Months of Purchase:
- If your jewellery was repaired within the first six months after purchase, and the repair fails again within three months, you can choose to have us replace the item or refund the original purchase price.
After Six Months of Purchase:
- If you have a repair done after the initial six-month period, and it fails within three months, we will either replace the repaired part or refund the cost of that repair.
What’s Not Covered
Certain things are not covered by this repair warranty, including:
- Misuse or Abuse: If your jewellery is subjected to misuse, abuse, or mishandling that goes beyond normal wear and tear, the warranty will not apply.
- Ordinary Wear and Tear: This warranty doesn’t cover the natural wear and tear that happens over time after a repair.
- Unauthorized Repairs: If you have your jewellery repaired or modified by someone other than Ralph Jacobs Jewellers after we’ve repaired it, the warranty will no longer apply.
- Reconditioned Parts: If we use reconditioned, rebuilt, or grey market parts in your repair (where applicable), we’ll let you know. These parts will be covered by the same three-month warranty unless stated otherwise at the time of repair.
Repair Warranty Limitations
At Ralph Jacobs, we strive to restore your jewellery to its original condition during repairs. However, some sections of your item may be unrepairable or may pose additional risks if fully repaired. In such cases, we will repair what we can to bring the item as close to its original state as possible. If a defect reoccurs or a new issue arises within three months of the repair, we will either repair the defect again or refund the cost of the repair, in line with the Consumer Protection Act.
Inspecting Your Jewellery
- Check Your Jewellery After Repair: We encourage you to inspect your jewellery as soon as you receive it back from us. If you notice any issues, please let us know within 7 days so we can address them promptly.
Right to Amend Policy
Ralph Jacobs reserves the right to modify or update these policies at any time without prior notice. However, any significant changes that materially affect your rights or obligations will be communicated to you through appropriate channels. We recommend reviewing our policies periodically to stay informed of any updates.
