Loss of jewellery or gemstones, whether partial or full, is a common concern among jewellery owners. This includes the loss of entire items, such as rings or necklaces, and the loss of gemstones, whether it’s the center stone or accent stones. Insurance typically covers these losses, but warranties do not.
Jewellery loss can occur due to several factors:
- Accidental Loss: Items can be accidentally dropped, misplaced, or lost due to circumstances like a ring slipping off a finger or a necklace breaking and falling off unnoticed.
- Gemstone Loss: This can happen when prongs or settings loosen over time due to regular wear and tear, allowing stones to fall out. Such losses can involve the main center stone or smaller accent stones.
- Full or Partial Loss: This refers to losing the entire piece of jewellery or just a part of it, such as a clasp or link, leading to the loss of the entire item or a portion of it.
Given that these types of losses are typically not due to manufacturing defects but rather external factors or normal wear, they are not covered under most jewellery warranties. Instead, they are better suited for coverage under a specialized jewellery insurance policy.
Loss of Jewellery or Gemstones: Ralph Jacobs warranty does not cover any loss, whether partial or full, of the jewellery item or any gemstones it contains. This includes, but is not limited to, the loss of the entire item, center stones, or accent stones due to accidental loss, theft, or any other circumstance leading to the loss of the jewellery or its components. We recommend obtaining appropriate insurance coverage to protect against such risks.
